A shared shopping list for two
Last updated
Groceree is a free shared shopping list app for couples on iPhone and Android. You both add to the same list and both see every change immediately, so whoever passes a shop first can do the shopping without checking in first.
For two people the problem is not organisation, it is timing. One of you thinks of something while the other is already out. Coordinating that over messages means the list lives in a conversation, scattered between other things, and neither of you is quite sure it is complete.
How couples use it
Whoever passes the shop first does the shopping
Neither of you has to own the list. It is always current on both phones, so the decision about who shops becomes a matter of who is nearby rather than who has the most recent version of what is needed.
No more “did you already get milk?”
Items get checked off as they go into the trolley, and the other person sees that happen. That removes the entire category of message where one of you is standing in an aisle waiting for a reply before deciding whether to buy something.
Separate lists for separate errands
The weekly food shop, the pharmacy, the things you need for the flat — keep them apart so a long list of hardware items does not bury the three things you actually need for dinner tonight.

Questions couples ask
- Do we both need the app installed?
- Yes. One of you creates the list and shares the invite link; the other installs Groceree and opens the link to join. After that the list is live on both phones.
- Can we see each other’s changes while shopping?
- Yes. Added, edited, and checked-off items appear on the other phone immediately, and you get a push notification when your partner adds something to a list you share.
- What if one of us has no signal in the shop?
- The list stays readable and editable offline. Anything you tick off while out of range syncs automatically as soon as your phone reconnects.
